Cleveland Taylor has completed his move from Carlisle to Brentford, for an undisclosed fee.

Carlisle United manager Greg Abbott had previously said that the winger wouldn't be sold until the club had signed a new player, with a striker being the top priority.

Abbott has spent the last few weeks telling us that a new signing is imminent, but we're now approaching the third match of the season with only one experienced striker (Scott Dobie) at the club.

Carlisle made it through to the second round of the league cup with a 1-0 win against Oldham at Brunton Park tonight.

It was an improved performance from Carlisle, and a well deserved victory.

With Cleveland Taylor set to move to Brentford, Scott Dobie came into the team, which meant the starting line-up featured a proper striker, and it was Dobie who scored the only goal two minutes from the end.

Team: Pidgeley, Raven, Livesey, Keogh, Harte, Anyinsah, Taiwo, Kavanagh, Bridge-Wilkinson, Robson, Dobie
Subs: Collin, Kane, Horwood, Rothery, Burns, Murphy, Madine.

Carlisle winger Cleveland Taylor is missing from tonight's line-up against Oldham as he is in talks with Brentford.  A fee has been agreed and it's thought that Taylor could sign for Brentford tomorrow if he passes a medical.

Carlisle manager Greg Abbott had previously said that Taylor would not be allowed to leave until a new player had been signed. Whether this means a new signing is imminent remains to be seen.

The date has been set for the tribunal that will decide the fee Carlisle United will receive for striker Danny Graham, who has signed for Watford.

The tribunal was originally due to take place two days ago, but was postponed due to Watford having a friendly match on that day. It will now take place on Thursday August 6th.

This means manager Greg Abbott will have to travel to London for the tribunal just two days before the start of the season - missing an important training session before the first match, and it will then leave Abbott with little time to spend the money that then becomes available to spend on a new striker.

Having lost Danny Grahgam and Michael Bridges Carlisle desperately need a goalscorer, but Abbott has been left waiting for the tribunal's verdict before knowing his budget for any new signings.
